The Rotary Club of Flin Flon is setting up for their second annual Rotary Poker Tournament next weekend. Only 100 tickets are being sold for the Texas Hole Em event at the Elks Hall and Rotarian Tim Spencer says to buy tickets now. Last year, the first year for the event, had over 100 people, but this year, Spencer says they decided to limit it to 100. The entry fee of $170 per person gives the player the chance to play poker as well as enjoy the supper. With the event starting at 4 p.m. next Saturday, Spencer says there will be more options for those players who cash out a little early. Cash tables will be set up around the Hall for players to continue and try their hand at another venue. For those still in the main game, Spencer says the top 15 players will receive cash prizes. The cash amount depends on the number of tickets sold. Rotary Poker Tournament is open to the public, older than 18 years of age, and both male and female. Last year, Spencer said, the tournament saw roughly 10 female players. Money raised through the poker event will go to the Rotarians to help with local community projects. The group has already earmarked $30,000 of their funds for the future Flin Flon Skate Park. Spencer says this year, he hopes to bring in roughly $5,000 from the tournament. That amount roughly matches last year's tournament. However, Spencer says last year, the group split the profits with the Kinsmen Club of The Pas.
