Maryn McKee is pushing herself to the top of the western Canadian synchronized swimming field.

The Flin Flon Aqua Doves member placed third in her class at the recent Canadian Prairie Championship in Regina, finishing on the podium in a field of athletes from across the country.

McKee finished the age 16-20 provincial stream solo group with a score of 57.8167, then ended the age 16-20 provincial stream solo free final championship with a 114.9. Her final score in the first category was enough to qualify McKee to try out for Saskatchewan’s high performance development team, one of Western Canada’s top synchro programs.

Along with teammates Talissa Alexander and Rene Thompson, McKee qualified for the Canadian Prairie Championship following the Sadie Caulder Knight provincial championship in Saskatoon in April. McKee finished third in routine and total championship score at the provincial meet.
