Player of the Week Winner: Rylan Schwartz, Notre Dame Hounds 1990 F Rylan Schwartz (Wilcox SK) ended the regular season with a flurry, scoring two goals and three assists in two games against the Kindersley Klippers to win the SJHL scoring championship. Schwartz, despite missing eight games, ended the year with 88-points, enjoying a four point cushion over Brett Leedahl of the Klippers, who placed second. Runners-up: Alexandre Leclerc, Battlefords; Richard Jodoin, Estevan; Brett Leedahl, Kindersley. Defenseman of the Week Winner: Michael Young, Flin Flon Bombers 1989 D Michael Young (Calgary AB) had a marvelous season, finishing over a point per game. Because of injury layoff, Young's overall season numbers may pale when compared to the two powerhouse offensive wizards in Humboldt (Wacker & Vandesype), however Young's point per game numbers are right there. Young had four points in his last two games of the regular season and ended up with 20 goals and 49 points in 42 games overall. Runners-up: Colton MacPherson, Estevan; Justin Perreaux, Kindersley; Nick Martin, Battlefords. Goaltender of the Week Winner: Ryan Nieszner, Kindersley Klippers 1988 G Ryan Nieszner (Moose Jaw SK) kept his team very much in the Sherwood Conference Elimination Series by backstopping the Klippers to a 2-1 double overtime victory over the Estevan Bruins on Saturday night. Through the first two games of the series, Nieszner sports a 1.61-GAA and a .946-SPCT. He also made 32-saves in a 3-2 OT loss to the Notre Dame Hounds in the final game of the regular season. Runners-up: Tommy Legault, Estevan; Ryan Kerpan, Flin Flon; Matt Weninger, Flin Flon.
