SJHL Player of the week Mike Rey, Flin Flon Bombers 1989 F Mike Rey (Winnipeg MB) led all SJHL players with nine points in three games played over the last seven days; including a big six point outburst in a 12-1 shellacking over the Sherwood Conference leading Weyburn Red Wings on Friday night. Rey has 13 goals and 26 assists in 24 games to lead the SJHL in scoring. Runners-up: David Dykstra & Dominic Martel, Flin Flon; Justin Hollinger, Melville; Deven Stillar, Melfort. SJHL Defenseman of the week Davis Brown, Estevan Bruins 1989 D Davis Brown (Regina SK) picked up points in three of four games last week and now has three goals and six assists in 25 games. Brown had a goal and two assists in the four games. The 5'11" 204 lbs blueliner will play a pivotal role for the Bruins as they try to push their way out of the Sherwood Conference basement. Runners-up: Harrison Tribble & Lee Christensen, Melfort; Michael Young, Flin Flon; Kurtis Decker, Yorkton. SJHL Goaltender of the week Andrew Bodnarchuk, Humboldt Broncos 1990 G Andrew Bodnarchuk (Saskatoon SK) backstopped the Broncos to a pair of wins last week, compiling a 1.00-GAA and a .959-SPCT. For the season, Bodnarchuk is now 10-8-1-and-1, 2.74-GAA and .911-SPCT. The SJHL leader in minutes played, shutout the Melfort Mustangs on November 17th and then allowed just two goals in a win over Battlefords on Saturday.
