Player of the Week Doug Lindensmith, La Ronge Ice Wolves 1989 F Doug Lindensmith (Sterling Heights USA) is the second La Ronge forward to win the award this season as he parlayed a seven point week into getting the nod. Tuesday night's five point effort against the Nipawin Hawks was the game in which he had his best production. For the season, Lindensmith has seven goals and 12 assists in 13 games to lead all players in points. Runners-up: Dylan Smith, Estevan; Rhett Bly, Weyburn; Justin Buzzeo, Humboldt. SJHL Defenseman of the Week Taylor Thiessen, Nipawin Hawks 1989 D Taylor Thiessen (Prince Albert SK) had a fantastic offensive week by scoring one goal and adding four assists in three games played. Thiessen also is amongst the team leaders on the Hawks in ice time as he anchors their blueline. He sacrificed offense on Friday night against Humboldt to shut down the Bronco forwards, limiting Humboldt to two powerplay goals all night. Runners-up: Kyle Cowan, Humboldt; Andrew Perrault, Weyburn; Mike Alexander, La Ronge. SJHLGoaltender of the Week Andrew Bodnarchuk, Humboldt Broncos 1990 G Andrew Bodnarchuk (Saskatoon SK) made three starts over the last seven days and he won all three, posting a 2.33-GAA and a SPCT of .930; while getting just 3.33 goals per game in offensive support. Bodnarchuk's best effort may have come on Friday night during the SJHL Game Of The Week, when he led the Broncos to a 2-1 victory over Nipawin. He made several key saves in the third period to help his team maintain the one goal lead.
