SJHL Player of the Week Winner: Josh Elder, Estevan Bruins 1988 F Josh Elder (Saskatoon SK) enjoyed a break out week that saw him score three goals and four assists in four games over the last seven days. He scored a goal and set up another in a win over Yorkton on Wednesday, and then had a hand in five of his teamÕs goals in back to back encounters with Flin Flon on Friday and Saturday. For the season, Elder is up to 11 goals and 10 assists in 20 games. Runners-up: Kyle Stroh, Brant Harris, Riley Tetreault, Chad Filteau, Estevan; Preston Shupe, Rhett Bly, Brayden Nargang, Weyburn. SJHL Defenseman of the Week Winner: Colton MacPherson, Estevan Bruins MacPherson (Whitewood SK) had three points in four games, but his real presence has been felt solidifying the defense corps as the Bruins put together five points of a possible eight last week that included tough road games in Flin Flon and La Ronge. The Bruins also finished a strong month of November by going 7-4-2. Runners-up: Justin Favreau, Weyburn; Todd Panchyson, Estevan; Brady Wacker, Humboldt, Greg Coburn, Yorkton. SJHL Goaltender of the Month Winner: Todd Mathews, Notre Dame Hounds 1990 G Mathews (Covina USA) allowed only two goals in two starts last week, winning both of them, and posting a .966 SPCT to get the nod. HeÕs also helped get the Hounds back into serious playoff contention for the second half of the season. Mathews was, especially, impressive in Melville on Friday night that resulted in a tight 2-1 victory for the Hounds. Since arriving from the WHLÕs Moose Jaw Warriors, Mathews is 4-1, 1.93, .939. Runners-up: Andrew Bodnarchuk, Humboldt; Jordan Washburn, Melfort; Riley Hengen, Estevan.
