SJHL Player of the Week Winner: Rylan Schwartz, Notre Dame Hounds 1990 F Rylan Schwartz (Wilcox SK) got a major push towards winning the SJHL scoring title this past week, firing four goals and five assists in three games played to run his season totals to 37 goals and 46 assists in 46-games. He has two more games to play and, barring something unforeseen, will win the SJHL scoring crown as he enters the final week with a two point lead on Brady Wacker, who has just one game left to play. Runners-up: Jaden Schwartz & Kyle Ireland, Notre Dame; Josh Garneau & Tommy Castonguay, Flin Flon. SJHL Defenseman of the Week Winner: Michael Young, Flin Flon Bombers 1989 D Michael Young (Calgary AB) had two goals and four assists in two games played during the past week, helping to elevate the Bombers into clinching second place in the Itech Conference and home ice advantage in the conference semi-final series, which will begin at the end of the month. For the season, Young contributed 19 goals and 26 assists in 40 games, fourth highest for defensemen in scoring. Runners-up: Dustin Stevenson, La Ronge; Matt McNamee, Weyburn; Blake Tatchell, Battlefords. SJHL Gloalie of the Week Winner: Brady Wilyman, Melville Millionaires 1989 G Brady Wilyman (Saskatoon SK) had made only one appearance since joining the team on January 10th, but ended up getting the call for two starts this past week and he was excellent in both. On Friday night, Wilyman stopped all 25 shots he faced in blanking the Melfort Mustangs. One night later, he made his first start at home and blocked 25 shots in a 4-2 victory to finish with a 1.00-GAA and .962-SPCT. Runners-up: Matt Weninger, Flin Flon; Shayne Barrie, Estevan; Kraymer Barnstable, Notre Dame; Devin Peters, Yorkton.
