With the season underway, the SJHL has delivered it's hardware for the Players of the Week. The 4 and 2 La Ronge Ice Wolves have two of them. Centre Ben Findlay is the forward, along with his teammate, Mike Alexander is the top reargaurd for the first installment. Notre Dame Hounds tender Devan Dubyk is the first masked winner on the campaign. The 18 year-old Findlay has points in his last five games for a total of nine. Including three goals and six helpers. He is currently tied with another Ice Wolve, Doug Lindensmith for the league lead in scoring. Lindensmith is the runner-up for the player of the week honours. Findlay has two points in all but two games so far this year. Mike Alexander was a lock for the defenseman honours. Alexander has eight points so far this season. Three goals and five assists. He started off the season by potting a goal and setting up two others in the Wolves first game. However, he is closely followed by his another d-man on the La Ronge roster, hulking blueliner Dustin Stevenson. He also has eight points, but Alexander gets the nod for his three goals. Devan Dubyk has backstopped the surprising Notre Dame Hounds to a 3-1-0-1 start with some strong play. He has a record of 2-1-0-1 and sports a sparkling 1.69 GAA to go with an even nicer .935 save percentage. He has only allowed seven goals on 108 shots. Humboldt's Andrew Bodnarchuk is the runner up between the pipes. He is 2-0 on the year so far.
