Player of the Month Winner: Rylan Schwartz, Notre Dame Hounds 1990 F Rylan Schwartz (Wilcox SK) likely ended his SJHL career in fine fashion by piling up six goals and 11 assists in the final seven games of the regular season to win the SJHL scoring crown with 88 points in 48 games. Schwartz is slated to play at Colorado College in September. Runners-up: Tommy Castonguay, Flin Flon; Josh Garneau, Flin Flon; Richard Jodoin, Estevan. Defenseman of the Month Winner: Michael Young, Flin Flon Bombers 1989 D Michael Young (Calgary AB) earned a scholarship to Nebraska-Omaha for the 2010-11 season during the past month, but he also racked up very impressive offensive numbers. Young had five goals and seven assists in in seven games to end the regular season and then put up another goal and three helpers in the opening two games of the Bomber series with Melfort. Runners-up: Justin Favreau, Weyburn; Austin Krahenbil, Melville; Rhys Thomas, Weyburn; Tom Kleidon, Battlefords. Goaltender of the Month Winner: Matt Weninger, Flin Flon Bombers 1989 G Matt Weninger (Lethbridge AB) ended the regular season with a pair of shutouts and then began the playoffs with two shutouts, racking up more than 251 consecutive scoreless minutes of goaltending. His February regular season numbers were 3-0-1, 1.73, .930; and in the playoffs he was 2-0 with a pair of shutouts. Runners-up: Ryan Kerpan, Flin Flon; Brady Wilyman, Melville; Travis Bosch, Melville. Rookie of the Month Winner: Jaden Schwartz, Notre Dame Hounds 1992 F Jaden Schwartz (Wilcox SK) had eight goals and five assists in seven games played to end the regular season, capping a season in which the younger Schwartz won the SJHL Rookie Of The Year Award. With 34 goals and 42 assists, Schwartz finished fifth overall in league scoring. Runners-up: Logan Herauf, Melville; Clarke Breitkreuz, Yorkton; Mathieu Lecours, Flin Flon; Dane Muench, Battlefords.
