Kelly Carrington Staff Writer Fit for Fifteen is back for another year at Creighton Community School. With a popular turnout for their first year, last year, the school started the fitness program earlier this month. Open to those from Kindergarten to Grade 6, Fit for Fifteen encourages students to be active during school recess as well as the rest of their day. Those who participate are to run a track, set up inside the school boundaries of the playground, marked with cones. Students have cards that get punched by a staff member every time they run the track. Though getting physically active is a great thing, the students are also awarded with incentives Ð bracelets with charms, medals and a grand prize of new running shoes. Fit for Fifteen runs through the morning and afternoon recess until next Friday. To end out the program, the students will participate in a mini marathon. At a ceremony, the winner of the prize of running shoes will be announced.5/13/2011
