The Hapnot Collegiate Kopper Kings and Kweens earned medals and personal bests at this year’s track and field provincials.
Thirty-five athletes travelled to Winnipeg June 4 to 6 for events in long jump, discus, javelin, hurdles and the relay team events.

Branson Powell picked up a personal best of 1.75 metres in the high jump competition while Nick Martin’s long jump of 43.43 metres was also a personal best.
Powell, Martin, Travis Buick and Kashaif Lone made up one of the two senior boys’ relay teams Will Hatherly, Nick Novosel, Devon Puchailo and Maverick Bryson made up the second.
The boys all competed in the 4x100-metre relay, placing and second and third respectively.
“It was a really great year, and a great season,” said coach Amy Olenick.
Coaches will recognize the efforts of all Hapnot athletes on Tuesday, June 16 with the annual Athletic Awards banquet to be held in the school’s gymnasium.
