The Flin Flon Bombers head into Friday’s regular-season opener on a high note.

The Bombers went 4-0 in the exhibition season following a 5-3 home win against the MJHL’s OCN Blizzard last Friday, Sept. 9.

“Obviously you want to win every game that you play, but at the same time we’ve got to realize that it’s exhibition,” said Bombers head coach and general manager Mike Reagan.

Reagan said he would have liked to have played one more preseason game using full rosters against a league opponent.

The Bombers won their four preseason matchups by a combined score of 20-11. This included 5-4 and 4-3 wins over the Nipawin Hawks, and 6-1 and 5-3 victories against the Blizzard.

“I don’t think I was surprised, really, by anybody,” said Reagan. “We’re pretty familiar with the guys that we brought in, and if anything it just confirmed that our scouts did a good job of bringing in guys that are going to be competitive for the team and make our decisions [about the final roster] tough.”

The Bombers open the regular season Friday when they host Nipawin at the Whitney Forum.
