The Flin Flon/Creighton Slo-pitch League held their second open tournament of the season this past weekend. A total of 12 teams participated in the three-day affair, playing a grueling guaranteed six games or more. Eight teams were local, while an additional four traveled up the #10 highway from The Pas. When the dust had settled on Sunday, Perfect 10 of The Pas walked away with the tournament victory, their second in a row in Flin Flon. Top prize was $1,000. Placing second and winning $700 was the Dirty Dozen, who did double duty on the weekend, playing in the tournament and organizing it. Third place and $500 went to the Wild Cats of The Pas, while Subway picked up $300 and third place. On the B-side, the Texas Mickey went to the Whiskey Jacks, while the Gripper went to the SWAT team for winning the consolation final. "The weekend was amazing," said Jason Morran of the Dirty Dozen. "Everybody that participated was great, and deserves a big hand." The next tournament for the league will be the wind-up tournament, August 20-22.
