Submitted Article Over 400 people enjoyed a warm day, free hot dogs and fun as the Friendship Centre held Friendship Play Day at the Joe Brain Children's Petting Zoo on June 16. Co-organizers Dawn Cardell and Katie Kawerski felt the day was a huge success. Friendship Play Day was resurrected after several years of being dormant. Starting out as Sunlight Play Day, the day was taken over by the Friendship Centre when funding from Sunlight ceased. Cardell and Kawerski applied to the Neighbourhood Revitalization Corp. and received funding to continue this community event. Approximately nine stations kept youngsters and adults busy for three hours. Along with Cardell and Kawerski, the following agencies participated: Kiddie Korner Day Care, Kids First North, Creighton Recreation, Northern RHA, Creighton Community School, Flin Flon Guidance Nursery, Smiling Hearts Daycare, Flin Flon Aboriginal Head Start and Community Youth Resource Centre.
