The Flin Flon/Creighton Ski Club is getting ready for another fun-filled season as they are set to host their Open House this weekend. With plans of talking about the upcoming season, a few hot beverages and and the upcoming events, the Open House is sure to be informative for any who attend. This coming Sunday, the doors to the Chalet will be opened to the public as well as past members of the club Ð and of course, those returning. This year, the Ski Club is offering 27 kilometers of well maintained trails, ski instruction with the Jack Rabbit program as well as the Moms and Tots program and the Nordic playground. As well, there will be Special Olympics programs available. And of course, for those who are interested in either learning to ski or looking to take up the hobby for a day, the Ski Club will continue to rent equipment to those in need. New to the Ski Club this year is the Junior Racing program. But making a comeback will be the annual Centaloppet Ð this year marks the 35th year for the event Ð which is scheduled to take place in March. As well, the Revival Loppet is scheduled to take place the day before the Centaloppet. The Open House will be informative for all those in attendance Ð as well, it will give those interested a chance to help volunteer throughout the season. The Ski Club's trails are maintained by volunteers. For more information, contact President Tim Spencer at 687-7768 or Duane Davis at 688-4871.
