Former Flin Flon Bomber Mike Reagan is one win away from attending the NCAA Championship tournament with the Sacred Heart Pioneers. Reagan, playing in his final year with the Pioneers, was second in team scoring with 11 goals and 17 assists in 34 games. Altogether, Reagan has totaled 80 points in 131 games over four years representing Sacred Heart. Now, Reagan and his team will battle the number one seeded Holy Cross Crusaders in the Atlantic Hockey Championship game this Saturday. Knowing that the winner advances to the 16 team NCAA Championship in a one game, winner take all final should make this the biggest game in Reagan's career. In the semifinal last weekend, Sacred Heart defeated Mercyhurst for the fourth time this season by a score of 3-2. Saturday night marks the fourth time a Pioneer team has played in a championship game since joining the Division I ranks in the 1999-00 season. Although the Pioneers may be the underdogs when they play the Crusaders, anything can happen in a one game, winner take all final. Last time these two teams met, it was the Pioneers who came out on top, winning 2-1. On the previous night, Holy Cross needed overtime to beat Sacred Heart 6-5. Saturday, those results won't mean a thing, as the loser goes home and the winner advances to the final 16, with regional finals played at various venues across the United States. Eventually, the top four teams will meet in Boston for the Frozen Four NCAA Championship tournament. Reagan hopes to lead his team to one of those spots, starting this Saturday.
