Ryan Fox and Steven Robinson of Creighton are off to the Telus Cup (Canada's National Midget AAA Championship) with the Prince Albert Mintos, April 24-30 in Charlottetown, P.E.I. After winning the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League, the Mintos earned the right to play in the Telus Cup after winning the Western Regional Championships. The Telus Cup, formerly known as the Air Canada Cup, has been a staple in Canada since 1974 and is the only recognized national championship for minor hockey. The Telus Cup consists of five regional champions and a host team which are: Pacific; Calgary Buffaloes, West; Prince Albert Mintos, Central; Toronto Jr. Canadiens, Quebec; Patriotes de Chateguay, Atlantic; St. John's Maple Leafs, and the host, Charlottetown Islanders. The final game will be broadcast on TSN, Sunday, April 30. The West teams' schedule is as follows: April 24 vs. Pacific at 4 p.m., 25 vs. Quebec at Noon, 26 vs. Atlantic at 4 p.m., 27 vs. host 7:30 p.m., 28 vs. Central at 1 p.m. The semi-final games will be played on the 29th at 2 and 7 p.m. Check listings for local times.
