Kelly Carrington Staff Writer The Flin Flon Novice Bombers hosted the annual Mel Pearson Memorial Tournament this past weekend. With 16 teams competing, the first Flin Flon team appearing in the finals were the Firemen. The earned a fourth place finish after a game against the OCN Blizzard. The Swan River Stampeders took the first place trophy with the La Ronge Ice Wolves taking second. Both the Whitney Forum and the Creighton Sportex were busy this past weekend. Both arenas held finals Ð four at each rink. The games got underway Friday afternoon and carried on Saturday with the finals on Sunday.
