After starting the season with a dismal 0-5 record, the Norman Northstars have found their offensive savy and won 11 of their last 17 games (three losses in overtime). The Northstars have only lost one game at home thus far and recently won seven of their last eight games, the eighth being a shootout loss. They started a four game in four day road trip last Thursday in Portage where they beat Central Plains 3-0. This was the first game back for forward Jordan Crone who has been sidelined with an injury for the last four weeks. The lay off didn't seem to hurt him as scored the first goal against Central Plains. From Portage they made their way to Kenora to face the Thistles. After the last time these two teams met it was sure to be a battle. The Thistles were underestimated by the Northstars and the Thistle goalie was outstanding. The team did manage to scrape together two wins, 3-2 and 7-6. Cole Williams of The Pas and Tanner Korchinski got the winners Friday and Saturday. Sunday games on the road are always tough for this team. The Northstars played the Eastman Selects. Eastman is ahead of the Northstars in the Eastern Division. The boys north of the 55th did however get one point from the game, losing in a shootout. Had they played Eastman Thursday the outcome may have been different. The Northstars have a rare weekend off and will face the tough Pembina Valley Hawks and Winnipeg Wild before going on Christmas Break. The Northstars current record is 11-8-1-2.
