The Bombers got off to a rough start on their two-game road trip. The Maroon and White took on the Battlefords North Stars Tuesday night with a disappointing 3-0 loss, giving the North Stars their third win of the season. While the Bombers managed to hold onto their third place rank in the Itech Conference, the team traveled to Kindersley the next night to take on the Klippers. Tuesday night's game saw the Bombers get outshot, for the second time in a few games, 38-26. The first period was scoreless and saw only one penalty. North Star Matt Restoule sat out two minutes for roughing, giving the Bombers a power play chance, but the team was unable to get past goalie Ryan Kerpan. The first 20 minutes of play saw both Bomber goalie Carsen Chubak and Kerpan save all 11 shots on net. The second period was another story as the scoring got started after the first seven minutes of the period, giving the North Stars a 1-0 lead. Putting the puck past Chubak was John Midtal with help from John Dalton and Nikolaus Dvorak at 7:06. Seconds later the penalty calls came in putting Bomber Robert Beaudry in the box for two minutes for slashing. Four minutes later had Battlefords Mitch Wall in the box for holding for two minutes and five minutes for fighting while Bomber Barrett Penner was given the same. Bomber Beaudry was called on roughing, giving the North Stars a power play and the perfect chance to find the back of the next for the second time that night bringing the score up to 2-0. With about six minutes left of the period both teams finished up the second 20 minutes of play with some penalties. The visiting Maroon and Whites saw Scott Day in the box for two minutes on an interference call while Harley Garrioch was later called for his roughing after the whistle. Battlefords got the last scold of the period for slashing. With the second period over the Bombers hit the ice in search of a new beginning, but the North Stars beat them to it as they scored their third and final goal of the game. The Bombers packed up and moved on after a 3-0 loss to the North Stars, but made their way to Kindersley to take on the Klippers Wednesday night.
