Friday is the last day to register for the Norman Regional Games. The regional finals for the MTS Manitoba Summer Games are taking place right here in Flin Flon, June 4-6. Athletes will have a chance to compete in their choice of 11 sports, and the winners will represent the region at the MTS Games in Dauphin, August 11-15. The Games are for athletes to take part in their home region in their chosen sport. Enter your team, take up a new sport, or form a new team. The MTS Manitoba Games involve participants throughout the province of Manitoba participating in seven regional qualifiers. Seven event finals will be played in Flin Flon, with four events being held in The Pas. Sports taking place in Flin Flon are baseball, beach volleyball, cycling, golf, softball, swimming and table tennis, while archery, athletics, soccer and triathlon will be held in The Pas. All events will take place between June 4 and 6, with the exception of athletics, which will be held at Goldie Goldstrand Pitch, May 28 and 29. Registration is exceptionally low in table tennis and swimming. This would be an excellent opportunity for amateur athletes or those with interests in either activity to break into the sport at the grass roots level. Information about each sport is available in the lobby of the Flin Flon Community Hall, or by calling the Rec Office at 681-7542.
