Brad May announced yesterday that more than twelve new NHL hockey players, including Jarome Iginla of Calgary and Mike Modano of Dallas, will join the line-up for the Brad May and Friends Hockey Challenge. The presenting sponsor, Bell Canada, will broadcast the game live on Bell ExpressVu for subscribers and webcast the game live on Sympatico.MSN.ca. Jim Hughson will host the simulcast with John Shorthouse and Joey Kenward providing the play-by-play. "The response from the NHL and WHL guys, our corporate sponsors, and the fans has been overwhelming," said Brad May. "The twelve new players added to our roster will make for some fun hockey. With Jim Hughson hosting the action live on Bell ExpressVu and on Sympatico.MSN.ca, I hope that hockey fans across the country will tune in to watch great hockey." The Brad May and Friends Challenge is a charity hockey game featuring current NHL athletes and the Vancouver Giants Junior hockey team. The game, which is sold out, will take place at 5 p.m. PST/8 p.m. EST on Sunday, December 12. Fans can watch the game live and free of charge to Bell ExpressVu subscribers on channel 352 or via Bell's web portal at Sympatico.MSN.ca. This event marks the first time a hockey game has been simulcast on television, and on the web.
