If you thought the NHL lockout wasn't going to have an impact in Flin Flon, think again. In order to accommodate NHL hockey fans who planned on sitting at home and watching Hockey Night in Canada every Saturday night, the Bombers are offering a two-day only seat sale for last-chance season tickets. For Thursday and Friday only, the Bomber office will be open at the Community Hall to sell season tickets at the reduced rate of $150. "This is a one-shot deal because of the NHL lockout," said marketing director Tim Coutts. "We want to accommodate the guys who usually watch hockey at home on Saturday nights. We want to give those guys a break. The office will be open on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Friday from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Also, details have been finalized on the Bombers' Putt to Win contest, sponsored by Kelly McLaren's Pro Shop and Eddies Family Foods. Each Friday night home game, two winners will be selected to putt from the blue line to the centre ice dot. The closest to the dot will win a box of golf balls and advance to the playoff round, while the loser will receive a sleeve of three balls. After eight games, the winners will be invited back for the playoff round, where the winners will advance and the losers go home, until one winner emerges victorious. The overall winner will get a set of steel shaft Calloway irons and Calloway bag. Finally, don't forget about the 50/50 draw for season ticket holders that will be made at Friday's season opener against the La Ronge Ice Wolves. Coutts says that the guaranteed prize of $5,000 has been raised and is now approaching $6,000. Tickets will be sold until 6:30 p.m. on Friday at the office, and will not be available at the game. Friday's home opener is the Bombers' only home game in September, so make sure you take the opportunity to come out and support your team.
