Former Battlefords' North Stars forward Dennis Kubat buried the game-winner for the Bombers in a 4-3 win against his former club. The goal was key in helping the Bombers win two out of three on the road. "Yeah, he's a pretty happy guy I can tell you that," said Bombers coach Doug Stokes. "It's kind of ironic how these things happen sometimes. The kid that comes over in a trade goes back into the old building and gets the game-winner." That wasn't the only thing that made Stokes a happy coach. He was impressed by the performance of his team. "Outstanding," he said. "In all areas of the game, that's by far our best performance that we've put in since I've been here. "I thought that was the most complete 60 minute effort that we put in and we had no passengers," Stokes said. "Every guy left everything they had on the ice. The Bombers power play executed at a 30 per cent rate going 3-10. What impressed the Bombers coach about his special teams was the players making quicker reads and puck movement, more shots to the net and that the oppositions' net area was chaotic- things he considers important to having an effective power play. Leading the way offensively was Braden Olszewski and David Holinaty who each had two assists for the Bombers as they also had four different goal scorers including Kubat. In the previous game against Kindersley, which the Bombers lost 6-3, Stokes chalked the loss up to a lack of respect. "I think when you lose respect for your opponent, you don't have a fear factor and that's when you're asking for trouble," Stokes explained. "I think when you're in Melfort and then in Battlefords', I think you know there's a respect factor there and a little bit of a fear factor that if you don't play well you know you're going to be in for a long night and I think we lost that respect and fear factor in Kindersley and we got exactly what I thought would happen."
