Flin Flon Minor Hockey is preparing to get another exciting season of hockey underway, with the first registration to be held today, Tuesday, September 7 in the lobby of the Whitney Forum from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The balance of the registration days will be Thursday, September 9 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday, September 13 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, September 25 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. ? all in the lobby of the Whitney Forum. The equipment sale will be held on Saturday, September 25, so if anyone has any equipment they would like to sell or if anyone is looking for good used equipment, come down and see Les Boulet at the Whitney Forum. Registration fees remain the same as last year with Hockey D set at $150, Novice-Atom-Peewee set at $275 and Bantam-Midget set at $300. A separate volunteer check for $100 dated April 30, 2005, per family is also required at the time of registration. There will be sign up sheet for various volunteer activities at the registration. Players who are joining Flin Flon Minor Hockey for the first time are required to bring a birth certificate (photocopier will be on location). There will be sign up sheets and information for anyone interested in being a coach, ref or timekeeper. The AA tryouts will begin on Monday, September 13 and you must be registered before stepping on the ice. All of the start up dates for AA tryouts, Hockey D and house league will be available at registration. Flin Flon Minor Hockey is currently working with The Pas Minor Hockey in scheduling some of our house league games together and as progress is made further information will be provided. There is a possibility that all of the AA teams will be moved to the division above but no final decision has been made in that regard. Following a Midget player/parent in April, a decision was made to not join the Norman Midge League as in past years. Flin Flon Minor Hockey is hoping to establish a Midget House League, (which would include AA Bantam, Rec League, and maybe The Pas) depending on the number of Midget players registering. We are also looking at entering the Midgets in the Rec League and certainly appreciate their interest in providing the Midget player a place to further develop. Details for this are currently being worked out between Minor Hockey and the Rec League. AA coaches for the upcoming season include; Atom AA - Dwight Stallard, Peewee AA - Sean Dundas, Bantam AA - Trent Boak and Midget AA - Greg Phair. Requests for applications for the A coaches will take place later in September.
