The end is near for the old playground at McIsaac School Ecole McIsaac. All the hard work Cindi Lee, chairperson for the McIsaac Playground committee, and others did for a new playground has paid off. With a contribution from the Joe Brain Foundation for $10,000, a grant from the Community Places program for $20,000, and $12,000 from the Flin Flon School Division, that puts the total at $67,657.29. "Things went very well. We're basically there and looking at phase two Ð the soccer field," Lee said. The goal last September was to have the playground in place within a year. "The playground company was shocked we came up with the money so quickly," she said. "We had really good help from the school and the community." Now Lee and Tim Davis are seeking more community support as help is needed to install the playground to save $20,000. Installation will happen from July 27 to 29. The play structure was purchased from Playground-R-Us and if they install it the final price is $92,526.72. McKeen's Trucking will do the excavation work and have agreed to donate $2,000 towards the process. Lee said anyone who would like to volunteer with installing the playground can call Davis at 687-6784.
