Kelly Carrington Staff Writer The Knights of Columbus helped roughly 20 children learn the rules of the road, on two wheels, last week during their annual bike rodeo. Held in the parking lot of St Anne's Church, on Centre Street, a course was outlined to help new bikers get from point A to point B safely. While wearing a properly fitted helmet, which the children learned about in a quick demonstration by NOR-MAN Regional Health Authority's Fran Labarre, children had to complete a figure 8 and know the importance of stop signs, crosswalks, traffic lights and hand signals. Knights of Columbus member Doug O'Brien says roughly 20 children were in attendance, which was lower than before, but he says they are looking forward to next year's rodeo. After learning about the importance of helmets and completing the course, two draws were made for new bikes. Tara Whitbread was the lucky winner of one bike while Jaxon Smith took the second.5/18/2011
