Compiled Article The Manitoba MudRun was created by the Dauphin Rotary Club and offers a big, muddy, messy obstacle course for participants to make their way through. The course is open to those over the age of 14 and can run solo or as a team. The obstacle course is held at the Dauphin Country Fest site and will take place August 10. The 10-kilometre run offers 20 obstacles to â??provide and additional challengeâ?ù quoted the Manitoba MudRun website. The run will help to raise money for the MS Society as well as the Dauphin Rotary Club. A number of residents from the Flin Flon area have already committed to the run. Through the Not-So-Early Bird registration is over, the Just-In-Time registration will continue until early August. As a fundraiser, participants are encouraged to raise pledges. As an incentive, the Manitoba MudRun will offer prizes to those who reach the fundraising goals including t-shirts, hot showers, change room, and a free bag drop. For all the others, cold group showers will be available after the run. To celebrate the run as well as the money raised for the MS Society and Rotary Club, the MudRun will have a post-party with beverages, music, and food vendors. Spectators are welcome and encouraged to cheer others on as they compete in the run. How It All Started ManMud is an endeavor started by a group of diehard Mudders who got hooked quickly through some other MudRun events across Canada in the last year. Coming back home sore, tired, banged up and proud â?? this group of Rotarians partnered with the local Dauphin Rotary Club to create a new fundraiser that would bring people into Dauphin with smiles on their faces and send em home with some extreme laundry to do. From there, the Manitoba MudRun was born!
