Submitted by SJHL Battlefords The Battlefords Stars and Yorkton Terriers have made a one for one trade involving a pair of 18 year-old forwards that both hope will have a significant impact for their team. The Stars get 1993 born forward Cody Pongracz (Saskatoon, SK) from the Terriers in exchange for 1993 born forward Curtis Oliver (Elkhorn. MB) Pongracz was seventh in Saskatchewan Midget Triple A scoring last season registering 57 points for the Saskatoon Contacts in 43 games while Oliver put up 39 points in 37 games for the Yellowhead Chiefs of the Manitoba Midget Triple A League. Kindersley The Kindersley Klippers and Notre Dame Hounds are swapping forwards. The Klippers pick up the rights to 1994 born forward Landon Robin (Saskatoon, SK) in exchange for 1993 born forward Dillon Schwartzenberger (Saskatoon, SK). Robin had 32 points in 34 games for the Beardy's Blackhawks of the Saskatchewan Midget Triple A league this past season. Schwartzenberger had 27 points for the Saskatoon Blazers of the SMAAAHL in 33 games. The Kindersley Klippers are proud to announce that 20 year old forward Sanfred King has committed to play for the University of McGill Redmen beginning in the 2011/2012 season. Sanfred spent two years with the Klippers amassing 77 points in 85 regular season games. King is the 4th member of the 2010-2011 Klippers to continue their hockey career while getting an education. He joins Johnathan Sonntag (University of Regina), Sean Cahill (Alaska-Fairbanks) and Andrew Dommett (Lake Superior State) as players who have moved on to a new challenge. The Klippers would like to thank Sanfred for his time spent in Kindersley and wish him the best of luck as he continues his hockey career in Montreal with the Redmen. Nipawin The Nipawin Hawks have added a goaltender to their stable after a trade with the Fort McMurray Oil Barons of the Alberta Junior Hockey League. The team has sent 1992 born forward Jamie Johnson (Edmonton, AB) to Fort MacMurray for 1992 born netminder Davis Jones (Edmonton, AB) Johnson had 27 points in 44 games last year and it was hoped he could improve on those numbers for the Hawks this season, but Head Coach Doug Johnson says he was moved for family reasons. In Jones, the team gets a goalie that went 11-3 in a backup role last year with a goals against average of 2.26 and two shutouts. Johnson is excited to have someone of Jones' caliber in the organization and is looking forward to having assistant coach Chad McLeod Ñ a former goalie Ñ work with him and his two returnees Stephen Klein and Brody Hoffman.6/29/2011
