Two key members of the Flin Flon Bombers ranked among the SJHL’s best in December.

Winger Brandon Switzer was named SJHL Player of the Month while netminder Zac Robidoux received SaskTel SJHL Goaltender of the Month honours.

Switzer had seven goals and eight assists for 15 points in eight games last month.

He had four multi-point games, including a four-point effort Dec. 12 against Melville.

Switzer also had two three-point games in back-to-back efforts in Kindersley and Battlefords on the 17th and 19th.

He has 50 points (22G, 28A) on the season.

Switzer, 20, is part of the Bombers’ top line along with Alex Smith and Joel Kocur.

“All three of us are fairly well-rounded guys,” Switzer, a gritty right-winger with a scoring touch, told The Reminder earlier this season. “I just think that we all play a similar style. I mean, everyone’s a little bit different, but we just complement each other well and we just try to play as hard as we can game in, game out.”

Meanwhile, Robidoux went 5-1 with a 1.68 goals-against average, .948 save-percentage and two shutouts.

Robidoux blanked Nipawin on Dec. 4 and Melville on Dec. 12. He followed that up by allowing just one goal in a game against La Ronge on Dec. 16.

On the season, Robidoux is 15-8-0-0-3 with three shutouts in 30 games. He has a 2.65 goals-against average and a .922 save-percentage.

In other league honours, Eric Sinclair of Melfort was named the IBAS SJHL Defenceman of the Month. Taryn Kotchorek of Battlefords was the SJHL Rookie of the Month.
