The five-time champion OCN Blizzard had three wins and one overtime loss in four games during the week ending October 26 to take over first place overall in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. OCN leads the Sherwood Division with a 13-1-1 record and two overtime losses, for 29 points in 17 games. The Portage Terriers are 11-4-2 and have one overtime loss for 25 points in 18 games. The Selkirk Steelers lead the Addison Division, at 12-7-0 and one overtime loss, for 25 points in 20 games. The Winkler Flyers are 10-5-1 and have one overtime loss, for 22 points in 17 games. League-leading scorer Aaron Starr had two goals and one assist October 21 in OCN's 6-2 win over the Dauphin Kings on home ice in The Pas. Starr leads the league and is tied for the CJAHL lead with 40 points in 17 games. He leads the league and CJAHL with 25 goals. Mike Gooch had three assists October 24 in OCN's 6-1 win over Portage in Portage la Prairie. Mark Wallman contributed one goal and three assists October 25 in OCN's 6-3 win before 1,187 fans in Winkler. Kip Workman had three assists October 22 in Portage's 5-3 win over the Waywayseecappo Wolverines on home ice. Evan Walsh had two goals October 24 in Selkirk's 7-2 win over the Winnipeg Saints in Winnipeg. Jordan Pietrus accumulated two goals and three assists October 26 in the Saints' 8-1 win in Waywayseecappo. OCN veteran Michael Young leads the league with 25 assists in 17 games. Rookie Stefan Drew of Portage leads league goalies with a 2.67 goals against average and .917 saves percentage in 540 minutes. Jonathan Meyer of OCN leads league goalies with a 10-1-1 won-lost-tied record in 703 minutes. Veteran Luke Molotowsky, 20, of the Winnipeg South Blues was chosen the league's Old Dutch player of the week. Molotosky had four goals and two assists in three wins in three games. OCN transferred the playing rights of forward Tyler Ryhorchuk to the Estevan Bruins of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League for future considerations. Southeast transferred the playing rights of forward Kyle Copenace, 18, to the Couchiching First Nations Borderland Thunder of the Superior International Junior Hockey League for the playing rights of forward Jordan Murray and defenceman Ryan Murray, 19. Borderland plays out of Fort Frances, Ont. Waywayseecappo transferred the playing rights of forward Reilly Dutchak, 20, to the Melfort Mustangs of the SJHL for the playing rights of defenceman Jeff Cutting, 19, and forward Kyle Palmblad, 19. Waywayseecappo obtained the playing rights of defenceman Adam Tresoor, 18, from the Melville Millionaires of the SJHL. Southeast acquired the playing rights of goalie Ryan Martin, 19, from the Brooks Bandits of the Alberta Junior Hockey League for future considerations.
