Aaron Starr padded his impressive totals with six goals and 11 points in three games during the week ending November 23 as the OCN Blizzard extended its Manitoba Junior Hockey League winning streak to 11 games. Five-time champion OCN had three wins in three games. Starr, 20, had two goals and one assist November 19 in a 6-2 win over the Dauphin Kings on home ice in The Pas. Veteran Michael Young contributed six assists November 21 in OCN's 9-2 win over Selkirk on home ice. Starr accumulated two goals and three assists. Rob MacIntyre totalled one goal and three assists November 22 in OCN's 11-2 win over Neepawa on home ice. Starr leads the league and CJAHL with 41 goals and 68 points in 29 games. Young, 20, leads the league with 41 assists in 29 games. Young had nine assists and 10 points in three games. Goalie Greg Goodwin had 19 saves November 18 in Neepawa's 4-0 win over the Waywayseecappo Wolverines in Waywayseecappo. Chris Stelmack had two goals November 18 in Selkirk's 5-2 win over the Southeast Blades on Southeast's home ice in Winnipeg. Dustin Hughes had two goals and one assist November 22, including the winning goal in overtime, in Selkirk's 6-5 win over the Swan Valley Stampeders in Swan River. Travis Kornelson had one goal and two assists November 23 in Selkirk's 8-7 win in Waywayseecappo. Portage Terriers' rookie Stefan Drew leads league goalies with a 2.77 goals against average in 780 minutes. OCN goalie Jonathan Meyer leads the league with a 15-1-2 won-lost-tied record in 1,068 minutes. Bo Storozuk of Southeast leads league goalies with a .918 saves percentage in 674 minutes. Also, Portage transferred the playing rights of defenceman Chris Barth, 20, to Dauphin for the playing rights of defenceman Garrett Hildebrandt, 20, and future considerations. Portage then transferred Hildebrandt's playing rights, and the playing rights of forward Brant Collins, 16, to Winkler for the playing rights of defenceman Jaymes Pawluk, 19, forward Bryan Bouchard, 19, and future considerations. The league has renamed its leading scorer award to honour alumnus Mike Ridley. The Mike Ridley Award replaces the Selkirk Steelers Trophy. Ridley established the league record with 91 goals, 99 assists and 190 points in 48 games with the St. Boniface Saints in 1982-83 before advancing to the University of Manitoba Bisons and the National Hockey League. Ridley totalled 292 goals, 466 assists and 758 points in 866 regular-season games in 12 seasons with the New York Rangers, Washington Capitals, Toronto Maple Leafs and Vancouver Canucks.
