The Neepawa Natives had three wins and one tie in four games during the week ending November 20 to take over first place in the Sher-Wood Division in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. The Winkler Flyers remain first in the Addison Division, and overall. Winkler is 16-5-4 and has two overtime losses, for 38 points in 27 games. The Winnipeg Saints are second in the division, at 15-8-3 and two overtime losses, for 35 points in 28 games. Neepawa has a 14-6-5 record and two overtime losses, for 35 points in 27 games. The Portage Terriers are 15-7-3. Rookie goalie Blaine Neufeld made 40 stops November 19, including 20 saves in the third period, in Winkler's 2-0 win over the Dauphin Kings on home ice. Neufeld, 17, leads league goalies with a 2.19 goals against average and three shutouts in 766 minutes. He is tied for the league lead with a .938 saves percentage. Clark Lowry had one goal and one assist November 16 in Neepawa's 4-3 win over the OCN Blizzard on OCN's home ice in The Pas. Andrew Mackenzie had one goal and two assists in the third period November 19 in Neepawa's 5-3 win over the Saints on home ice. Veteran Marco Pellizzari contributed one goal and three assists November 20 in Neepawa's 7-2 win over OCN on home ice. Matt Summers of OCN leads league scorers with 24 assists and 39 points in 30 games.
