The Winkler Flyers won four times in four games during the week ending February 8 to advance within 10 points of first place in the Addison Division in the MJHL. The Selkirk Steelers continue to lead the division, and are second overall, at 37-16-1 and one overtime loss, for 76 points in 55 games. Winkler has a 30-18-3 record and three overtime losses in 54 games. The five-time champion OCN Blizzard had three wins and one overtime loss in four games. OCN is first in the Sherwood Division, and overall, at 40-9-3 and four overtime losses, for 87 points in 56 games. The Swan Valley Stampeders have a 30-20-3 record and one overtime loss, for 64 points in 54 games. Jordy Black and Kyle Ladobruk had one goal and one assist each February 3 in Selkirk's 5-5 tie against the Winnipeg South Blues on home ice. Mike Hamilton had two goals February 3 in Winkler's 4-2 win over the Winnipeg Saints on home ice. Chad Wrixon had two goals and one assist February 6 in Winkler's 5-4 win in Selkirk. Brandon Heck contributed two goals and two assists February 7 in Winkler's 9-1 win over Selkirk on home ice. Teammate Justin Todd totalled one goal and three assists. Colin Herman chipped in with four assists for Winkler. Hamilton accumulated two goals and three assists February 8 in a 7-2 win over the Southeast Blades on Southeast's home ice. Heck and Todd had two goals and two assists each. Aaron Starr and Cole Hunter had two goals each February 3 in OCN's 6-1 win over the Dauphin Kings in Dauphin. Goalie Pierre-Olivier Girouard made 41 stops February 6, including 19 saves in the second period, in OCN's 6-2 win over Winnipeg South on home ice in The Pas. Girouard had 45 saves February 5 in a 3-1 win in Neepawa. Girouard was selected the league's Old Dutch player of the week for his superb performances. Starr, 20, leads the league and CJAHL with 100 points in 53 games. He leads the league with 52 goals. Girouard leads the league and CJAHL with a .926 saves percentage in 1,469 minutes. He leads the league with a 2.65 goals against average. Goalie Greg Goodwin made 29 stops February 6 in Neepawa's 3-2 win over the Portage Terriers in Portage la Prairie. Sunny Boudreault had two goals February 7 in Neepawa's 5-2 win over Dauphin on home ice. Neepawa scored five times in the third period. Jordan Oakley had four assists February 4 in Swan Valley's 7-2 win over Portage on home ice in Swan River. OCN veteran Michael Young leads the league with 54 assists in 51 games. Saints' veteran D'Arcy Munro leads league goalies with 24 wins in 2,659 minutes. Also, Troy Kennedy was relieved of his duties as Southeast's general manager/coach. Lyle Loewen was named the interim general manager/coach. Jordan Pietrus of the Saints was chosen the league's player of the month for January. Pietrus led league scorers with 27 points, including 14 goals, in 11 games. Kyle Devisser of the Saints was picked the league's defenceman of the month. Devisser led league defencemen with 14 points, including 12 assists. Brock Trotter of Dauphin was selected the league's rookie of the month. Trotter led league rookies with 22 points, including 14 goals. Goodwin was named the league's goalie of the month. Goodwin had a .921 saves percentage and 2.51 goals against average in seven games.
