The five-time Manitoba Junior Hockey League champion OCN Blizzard won four straight exhibition games Sept. 3-7 against Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League and Superior International Junior Hockey League teams. Pat Power scored three times and added one assist Sept. 3 in OCN's 12-6 win over the Flin Flon Bombers of the SJHL in Flin Flon. Teammate Jared Lang contributed one goal and three assists. OCN beat the defending SIJHL champion Fort Frances, Ont., Borderland Thunder 3-2 Sept. 5 in Fort Frances. OCN then defeated the Fort William First Nation North Stars of the SIJHL 2-1 and 5-1, respectively, Sept. 6-7 in Thunder Bay, Ont. The Winnipeg Saints won three consecutive exhibition games against the Southeast Blades, Winkler Flyers and Selkirk Steelers. Anatoliy Moshkovsky had one goal and three assists Sept. 7 in the Dauphin Kings' 8-2 win over Southeast. Darryl Munch, Derek Hooper and Kevin Clark combined for 17 points Sept. 7 in the Winnipeg South Blues' 8-2 win over Southeast. Munch totalled three goals and three assists. Hooper contributed two goals and four assists. Clark had one goal and four assists. The Swan Valley Stampeders also won against an SJHL team. Swan Valley defeated the Melfort Mustangs 6-3 Sept. 3 in Melfort. Southeast transferred the playing rights of Joel Boyetchko to the Williams Lake Timberwolves of the British Columbia Hockey League for future considerations. The Saints transferred the playing rights of Troy Cherwinski to the Victoria Salsa of the BCHL for the playing rights of Marcel Juhasz and future considerations.
