Sixteen year-old rookie Brodie Dupont collected three points as the Swan Valley Stampeders defeated the Waywayseecappo Wolverines 6-3 Wednesday night at the Centennial Arena. Dupont broke a 2-2 tie at 8:25 of the second period and also put his team up 5-2 with a power play goal late in the same period. Nineteen year-old rookie Bret Peppler is also making an early impression as he scored once and set up another. He has six points in his first four games. Ian Lowe, Jordan Oakley, and Brett Maxwell had the other goals for Swan Valley. Shane Kochar, Harlan Kingfisher, and Kyle Luschinski answered for the Wolverines. Luschinski leads Wayway with four goals. Rookie Mark Wait made 25-saves in the Stampeder net. Brett Thomas turned back 37-shots for Waywayseecappo. The Neepawa Natives scored twice in the final 3:43 to defeat Winnipeg 3-2. Travis Bauman snapped a 1-1 tie just under seven minutes into the third and the Saints looked like they were going to pick up the win, however Marty Bilodeau tied it at 16:17 and then Marco Pellizzari potted the winner 1:47 later. Dan Fillion put the Saints ahead 1-0 after one. Ryan Johnston tied the game 6:39 into the second. Neepawa forward Dustin Norman set up two of his team's three goals. Greg Goodwin got the win in goal with a 26-save effort. D'Arcy Munro blocked 41-shots in the loss.
