The Selkirk Steelers have swept the best-of-seven Manitoba Junior Hockey League final against the Portage Terriers. Veteran Dustin Hughes accumulated one goal and three assists April 8 in Selkirk's 4-2 win before 2,570 fans in Selkirk. Hughes had three assists April 11 in a 4-1 win before 1,300 fans in Portage la Prairie. Selkirk goalie Justin Harris had 29 saves. Hughes led league playoff scorers with 27 points and tied for the league playoff lead with 10 goals in 17 games. Selkirk veteran Steve Lajoie led league playoff scorers with 18 assists and was second among league playoff scorers with 26 points in 17 games. Harris led league playoff goalies with a 2.52 goals against average and 10-2 won-lost record in 762 minutes. Jesse Deckert of the Winnipeg Saints led league playoff goalies with a .931 saves percentage in 343 minutes.
