The Winkler Flyers won three consecutive games during the week ending September 26 to retain their perfect record in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. Winkler has five wins in five games, is first in the Addison Division and overall. The Winnipeg South Blues and Winnipeg Saints are tied for second in the Addison Division and overall. Winnipeg South and the Saints are each 3-1-0 and have one overtime loss, for seven points in five games. Veteran goalie Matt Neufeld made 31 stops September 22 in Winkler's 3-0 win over the Saints on the Saints' home ice. Neufeld has a 1.75 goals against average, .950 saves percentage and 4-0-0 won-lost-tied record in 240 minutes. Matt Ostash had one goal and four assists September 24 in Winkler's 5-4 win over the Neepawa Natives in Neepawa. The OCN Blizzard have been slow out of the gate with a 1-2-2 record.
