On Saturday, February 21, the Miscellaneous Bonspiel was held at the Willowpark Curling Club. About 30 curlers turned out for a very enjoyable day with lots of fun, good people and great food. Who could ask for more? The prizes were pretty great, too. Prizes included grandfather clocks right down to key chains and no one left empty-handed. Since there were so many people who wanted to "skip", skips were picked and then the teams were drawn just before the curlers went out on the ice. When the last rock came to rest in a shortened version of the game, the winner was John Faktor with his team of Menno Giesbrecht, Billy Kozak and James Rasmussen. They defeated the team of Terry Lofgren, Vikki Johnsgaard and Cal Huntley. In the consolation event, the game turned out to be a real game, going into an extra end and then down to the last rock. Judy Maitland's team of Judy Kozak, Berta Linnick and Bob Lesage won over Bev Wynnychenko, who played with Harold Brown, Eric Wallaker and Gail Baker .Congratulations should go to the organizers for putting on such a great bonspiel and also to the staff at Willowpark.
