Hello hockey fans, welcome to another exciting season of Midget AA hockey. Our first tournament was in Saskatoon the weekend of December 2, 3 and 4. Kick back, get a coffee and read on. The boys got stronger as the weekend wore on. It was their first tournament and their first body contact. Goaltending looks good this year with Ryan Scott and Blair Chaisson between the pipes. Blair had an exceptional weekend as he had the Kelvington boys shaking their heads in the last game. Defense this year is anchored by third year Shane Donaldson, who has AAA experience playing with Thompson last year. Rounding out the solid defense is third year Doyle Bear and Chris Erikson. Second year Mike Phair along with rookie Brad Simon who all had exceptional weekends. Up front we also have AAA experience with Kyle Assie joining us this year. The loss of Walker Wintoneak to the Swan Valley Stampeders this year will be tough but the boys are up to the task. Third year Matt Kritzer, Ashton Crone, Travis Ford, Kiley Spiller, John Jacobson, and Blaine Fagnan showed great leadership on the weekend. Second year Rudy Pegg and Chris Danis, along with rookie Owen Woloshyn, and Wes Gawiak round out the forward lines. It was an emotional weekend for everybody as Shayne Pearson's mother, Lisa, accompanied the team to cheer the boys on. Lisa will be going to every tournament. God bless you Lisa, the boys will be playing every second of every game for you and Shayne. Blair and Ryan know you're backing them up Shayne, you just got there a little late for the first game. These young men played their hearts out this weekend. Their relentless forecheck is awesome to watch. Everybody backchecks. They frustrated teams all weekend. These boys are an absolute joy to watch. Kudos go out to coach Greg Phair and assistant Devon Pfoh for preparing these boys so well.
