Flin Flon Minor Hockey is currently searching for a responsible individual to coach the Midget 'A' hockey team. Due to circumstances beyond their control the Midget 'A' program last year did not get off the ground as hoped and therefore there is not a lot of confidence in this year's program. In order to make the Midget 'A' program work we need a solid commitment from a reliable coach and a commitment from the eligible Midget players. To aid in making a decision as to what was the best possible avenue for our Midget players, a meeting was held last April for all Midget players and their parents. From this meeting a decision was made to withdraw from the Norman Midget League and enter our Midgets in the Rec League along with exhibition games and tournaments. So, if we can get a committed coach and enough players to form a team, we can offer the following: one or two games per week (in Rec League, Bantam 'AA'), one or two practices per week, exhibition games versus Cranberry and The Pas Midget 'A', whatever tournaments they decide to attend, and Provincials. Flin Flon Minor Hockey feels that enough competitive hockey can be played by the Midget 'A' team to make it a worthwhile program. If anyone is interested in the coaching position and has any questions about certification or anything else, please give Paul Akkerman or Greg Phair a call. Please step up and help us in maintaining a Midget hockey program in Flin Flon.
