Kelly Carrington Staff Writer The Men's annual bonspiel saw 17 teams out on the ice this past weekend at the Uptown Curling Club. Games started Friday and continued through the weekend with the finals on Sunday afternoon. Taking a break for supper and a few sociable beverages after the games on Saturday, the fun continued the next morning. In the finals, it was the Don Holmes rink that earned first place in the 1st Event. Trevor Watt's rink earned first place in the 2nd Event and the first place in the 3rd Event went to the Ken Tetreault rink. The group held and award ceremony at the end of the weekend as teams selected their prizes based on the place they finished. Teams picked four of the same item, which had some walking away with cash and some walked away with barbecue tools and everything in between. The Men's Bonspiel helped end out the curling season for another year.
