Both the Willow Park Curling Club and the Uptown Curling Club had their rinks cleaned off more than once over the weekend as the 76th Annual MenÕs Curling Bonspiel hit the ice with 28 teams in search of the first place trophy. The HBM&S and Flin Flon Insurance event, the main event, saw Lofgren and his team take first place after defeating team Groff Sunday afternoon at the Uptown Curling Club. The KFC and Ginnell Bauman Watt event had teams Holmes and Lantz taking it to the ice, but it was Holmes who took the win. And it was team Gogal who took the Stittco Energy Ltd and WallyÕs technical event after seven ends from McCluckie. Bernie Wall and his team held up the first place trophy for the North of 53 Consummers Co-op after a nine ended game over team K. Kennedy.
