The SJHL MemberCARE Cup final is now a best-of-three series, as the Weyburn Red Wings and Kindersley Klippers have split the first four games. On Friday, Weyburn won game three 5-3, but the Klippers came back with a 3-2 win on Saturday to even the series. Friday's game in Weyburn, the Red Wings used two power-play goals to help them to a 4-0 lead by the five-minute mark of the second period. Matt Wheeler scored his second goal of the playoffs on a power play at 5:13 of the opening frame. Steve Pearce had Weyburn's other first-period goal at 14:26. Tyler Mills picked up his third of the playoffs at 3:30 of the second period, and Ryan Grona made it 4-0 on a power play at 5:10. Troy Schwab's 11th of the playoffs at 8:03 got Kindersley back in the game, and Jason Fleck cut the lead to two goals at 10:23 with a power-play goal. Jade Boklaschuk scored at 8:33 of the third period for the Klippers to bring them within one goal of the Wings, but Cale Jordison shut the door the rest of the way. Jereme Tendler added an empty net goal at 19:48 for Weyburn. The Wings out shot the Klippers 40-23, and scored two power-play goals on nine chances. Kindersley scored one power-play goal on seven chances. A total of 1,544 fans came out to watch the game on Friday in Weyburn, but only 1,287 returned on Saturday when the Wings lost. Casey Lee's first of the post season gave the Klippers a 1-0 lead on a power play at 5:45 of the first period. Clayton Bastura tied the game at 7:04 with a Weyburn power-play goal, but Jesse Fischer's power-play goal at 12:11 gave the Klippers the lead after the first period. Curtis Bazylinski scored the only goal of the second period, a backbreaker with four seconds left on the clock. It would stand up to be the game-winner. Jordan Stevenson scored the only goal of the third period at 16:57 for Weyburn. Shots on net were 28-27 in favour of the Klippers, who scored two power-play goals on six attempts. The Wings scored once on five tries.
