Volleyball teams from Ecole McIsaac School and Ruth Betts Community School competed hard in this year’s league playoffs.
The finals saw the first-ranked McIsaac team against the third-ranked Ruth Betts team.
Last week, both teams had won their semi-final games.
The finals in the playoffs came down to three sets to determine the winner – giving Ruth Betts the edge and first place.
The matches were competitive as some of the best volleyball of the season had been played – giving the teams a chance to work on their three hits as well as long rallies.
Competing for third place in the finals were two McIsaac teams with team Davis picking up the three set win over team Reierson.
On The Road
Leaving the local school gymnasiums to play, teams from Creighton and Flin Flon traveled to The Pas for the year’s final tournament.
All teams represented well.
On the boys’ side, McIsaac Reid won third place while the girls’ side saw team Pomarenski/Chrupalo from McIsaac in first in their pool of seven teams.
The girls only lost three of their 12 sets.
They went on to the finals to face Snow Lake (who placed first in their pool of seven teams).
In a great final match, team Pomarenski/Chrupalo finished in second place with coaches being incredibly proud of their player’s consistent three hit play all day long.
