Team Manitoba was middle of the pack in this year's Canada Summer Games. The team brought home a total of 35 medals and ranked seventh. Ontario led the pack with 213 medals _ making up 95 Gold, 69 Silver, and 49 Bronze. Manitoban athletes brought home three Gold medals, 11 Silver and 21 Bronze. Ontario was the strongest of Manitoba's border sharers this year with Saskatchewan ranking sixth and earning 51 medals. Saskatchewan brought home eight Gold, 18 Silver, and 25 Bronze medals this year. In total, 787 medals were awarded at this year's events. The Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and the Yukon walked away empty-handed while both Newfoundland and Labrador and P.E.I. earned two medals each. Quebec ranked second in the competitions with 172 medals as they hosted the Canada Games this summer. B.C. ranked third with 122 medals, followed closely by Alberta in fourth place with 118 medals. Nova Scotia ranked fifth with 56 medals. New Brunswick sat just below Manitoba with 16 medals. This year's Summer Games ran from Aug. 2-17 with athletes competing in various sports.
