SJHL fans know their stuff. Fifty-two per cent of votes went to the Humboldt Broncos and Yorkton Terriers to compete in the SJHL Finals for the Canalta Cup in an online poll. Voters selected the Humboldt Broncos and Yorkton Terriers as the top two teams in the SJHL off the main website. The Humboldt Broncos knocked out the Flin Flon Bombers with a 2-1 double overtime win Friday night. The Broncos took the North Final series 4-1 over the Maroon and White with three wins in Humboldt. The Terriers defeated the Melville Millionaires 4-2 in the Sherwood Finals best-of-seven series. The Broncos and Terriers will compete for the Canalta Cup and their chance to take on the winner of the MJHL. In Manitoba, the Dauphin Kings were up 3-0 in their best-of-seven series against the OCN Blizzard for the Sher-Wood Division after the Easter weekend action. In the Addison Division, the Steinbach Pistons held an early 2-1 lead over the Winnipeg Blues. The winner of each Division will advance to the Turnbull Trophy for the MJHL title and eventually compete against the winner of the SJHL. In the SJHL poll, where the Broncos and Terriers received 52 per cent of the votes, the Flin Flon Bombers and Melville Millionaires were the lowest ranked with 11 per cent. Of the 2,176 votes cast in the online poll, the Bombers and Terriers received 15 per cent. The Humboldt Broncos seem to be the number one pick to take the SJHL title as they received 22 per cent of the votes when matched against the Melville Millionaires. The percentages and number of votes cast was as of Monday morning.
