The employee is one of two McDonald's Employees in Manitoba to be honored with a 2007 Go Active! Crew Award. Michelle Tremblay-Boulianne, an employee at the Flin Flon McDonald's restaurant and sports enthusiast has been honored with a 2007 Go Active! Crew Award from McDonald's Canada, in recognition of her athletic achievements and on the job performance. The Go Active! Crew Award, which is open to all McDonald's restaurant crew in Manitoba, includes a $500 grant. "McDonald's is extremely proud to celebrate Michelle's achievements and offer some support as she strives to reach her athletic goals," said Darryl Assailly, Owner-Operator, Flin Flon McDonald's. "Supporting the growth and development of our employees is a key commitment here at McDonald's and we wish Michelle all the success as she works towards her athletic goals." Michelle, a gifted athlete, is actively involved in variety of sports, including soccer, basketball, cross-country running, track and field, martial arts, and wrestling. She recently represented her school at both the provincial soccer championships and the provincial track and field championships, earning a top five ranking for each track and field event. In addition to acting as team captain for her basketball team, Michelle has also excelled at Tae Kwon Do, earning her black belt after only two years of training. The grant will assist Michelle with tournament fees and traveling expenses as she continues to pursue her wide ranging passion for sport. "I'm thrilled to receive the Go Active! Crew Award," said Michelle. "McDonald's has been very supportive in many ways, including offering flexible scheduling that fits with my training, and this award offers me further assistance as I pursue my athletic goals." McDonald's has a longstanding commitment to supporting amateur athletes and is a proud supporter of the Olympic movement and sports in general, at both the local and international level.
