Keeping perfect form on the bars, balance beam, floor and vault, two local gymnasts will be heading to the MB Winter Games to compete for team Norman. Danielle Labine and Shannah Fisher, both regional stream advanced gymnasts, will joining six other athletes to make up the Norman team. Having the home gym advantage proved beneficial for both Labine and Fisher as they competed confidently against the other gymnasts at the Norman Regional Qualifiers held Saturday McIsaac School Ecole McIsaac played host the day-long event as parents, grand parents, aunts, uncles and friends went out to watch. Labine, who earned first place on bars, said the competition was a lot of fun. Winning wasn't on her mind as she rose to the challenge of the balance beam. "You go for fun, not to win," she said. Fellow teammate Tieryn Steele competed in the event, but was not named to the Norman team. "It was a fun experience," she said. "Even though I didn't make it, it was still a lot of fun." Fisher and Labine will hit the mats in in early March for the MB Winter Games in Portage la Prairie while Steele will attend Provincials on March 26 in Morden.
