The Ladies Closing Day Tournament was played Sunday, August 29 on a very cool, cloudy day. There were 23 ladies participating. The winner with a gross score of 93 was J. Maitland and runner-up with 95 was C. Quinn. The rest of the scores are net. 0-28 handicap first D. Myden 72, second D. Nelson 76, third G. Martinot 87. 29-36 handicap first A. Wiebe 67, second R. Rideout 73, third M. Howat. 37+ handicap first L. Chretien 76, second G. Lethbridge 83, third K. Larsson 84. Other tournaments played over the summer, prizes were distributed as follows: Sadie Milne - first C. Quinn 84 net, second D. Nelson 91 net, third D. Wellman 99 net, fourth A. McEachern 99 net. The High Handicap Tournament - first D. Wellman 66 net, second A. Wiebe 68 net, M. Quesnel 74 net. The Silver/Bronze Tournament. - silver first D. Nelson, second D. Myden, consolation D. Wellman; bronze - first V. McLean, second D. Streitle. Thanks to Doris and her helpers for all the tournaments. Ladies Night August 31 was a little cool but we stayed dry. First with 38 on a countback was the group of C. Williams, S. Reed, L. Malateare and C. Beck. P. Bloxom won the gift certificate. Random draws from the 52 ladies out were made for balls, visors, etc. There are only two more Ladies Nights scheduled, the next being September 7. Make sure you book those tee times and make the most of the nice golfing days we have left. Thursday, September 2 there were 15 ladies out to mingle on a rather cool morning. Points were scored by guessing your strokes per hole. Bonus of 5 points for exact score. First with 10 points K. Larsson, second M. Aden with 7 and third A. Wiebe with 6. Next mingle will be September 9 weather permitting.
